Due to the government wanting only one major fiscal event each year, there has been a reshuffling of the Autumn Statement and Spring budget.
The Chancellor will therefore now announce the important budget each Autumn, followed by a diluted Spring statement, which will be on a far smaller scale than previous statements.
The Chancellor says this new timetable will allow tax changes to be put under more Parliamentary scrutiny before they are implemented.
So what changes will we expect to see in next week’s budget?
